Actor, performer, acrobat, juggler and theatrical coach Alessio Ferrara was born in Naples in 1985.
He began his career as physical actor and as street artist. He studied the Brechtian method at Ichos Zoe Teatro where he worked as main main character in ZoeDreigroschenoper by B. Brecht; 1799 by S. Mattiello; Il cavaliere di Brecht by S. Mattiello (Napoli 2002-2005).
He further deepened his artistic training by studying dance, corporeal mime, clown and Commedia dell’Arte with Michele Monetta, Lina Salvatore, Anna Redi, Camillo Vacalebre, Valeria Apicella, Alessio Torgioni, Loretta Morrone, Peter Wayel, Eugenio Allegri and Vladimir Olshansky.
He has received a Diploma in attore lirico-concertista at the ICRA Project by Michele Monetta and Lina Salvatore (Naples, 2010).
He has also received a Masters Degree in Performing Arts and Multimedia Production at the University Suor Orsola Benincasa (Naples, 2011).
He moved to Berlin and began his training as an acrobat at the School of Performing Art Die Etage where he will graduate in 2014 . During his training, he had the opportunity to represent Die Etage whilst performing for the FEDEC (Federation des écoles de cirque europeenne professionnelle) and working as a director and performer for the show The Bar under the sea (Berlin, 2011).
Since 2013 he has been working as a freelance artist in important Festival in Spain, Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Lithuania, Estonia and Russia.
In 2014 he founds Artekòr Duet together with Roberta Ruggiero.
In 2015, he is one of the producers of Bus Theater– a traveling theater project.
He is teaching expressive movement at Festival della Filosofia in Magna Grecia.
He is teaching research and acrobatics at Die Etage school.
In October 2015, he has directed the show Metamorphosys for the annual meeting of the FEDEC at the Festival CIRCA in Auch.
